Project summary: Renovation of a beautiful Grade II listed house in Lower Sunbury, Surrey.

This grade II listed building and grounds are in a state of disrepair and are in need of restoration and modernisation. Due to the listing and location within the Lower Sunbury Conservation Area, a sensitive approach towards the design is required along with a clear planning / listed building strategy. Alex Tart Architects were appointed following a successful previous partnership with the client.

Internally the house is being sensitively refurbished throughout in order to provide the client with a 21st century family home. Key period features of architectural merit will be retained and restored, whilst the unsympathetic extensions that have been added to the property over the last century are to be removed. Both traditional and contemporary replacement extensions were approved. These extensions will be subservient to the main house whilst providing the essential additional accommodation the client requires.
