Stitchcombe Mill’s Construction Progress

A picturesque Christmas scene at Stitchcombe Mill—where tradition meets festive charm! 

The mill, nestled within the North Wessex Downs AONB, is undergoing extensive refurbishment and extensions and is currently in the early stages of construction and we’re thrilled to share the construction progress.

The project is traditionally detailed and sits within a very picturesque landscape. The new extension spans across the River Kennet which passes beneath the property. Working in such close proximity to the river has seen flood management become an integral part of the overall construction approach, securing the longevity of the home.

As the external walls are going up, the masonry has been approached with a clear design objective, working closely alongside the contractor, Smith Heritage, to ensure the mix of differing bricks provide an authentic blend across the whole elevation, tying the new extension clearly into the historic masonry of the building.
